Pandemic-caused changes to consumer behavior have led to opportunities outside Metro Manila, David Rafael, president and chief executive officer of Aboitiz Land Inc,. said on Monday.
“People now… are beginning to appreciate living outside of Metro Manila because of work from home [arrangements],” Rafael said in a briefing.
“They don’t really need to work in small condominiums located in the city. That expands their choices, bigger houses with open spaces and all,” he added.
This, Rafael claimed, “is good for us because… we don’t really have projects here within the city because all our projects are outside of Metro Manila and [in] growth areas.”
He pointed to developments in Batangas and Cebu City, including the Amoa Cebu Subdivision in Compostela and the Foressa Mountain Town in Balamban.
“We are optimistic. But on the other hand, we realize the challenges particularly with respective interest rates, this really tempers the ability of buyers to buy because of interest rates that makes loans expensive. Construction cause is also affected by high inflation,” Rafael said.
Aboitiz Land has also invested in digital marketing and sales competencies and launched the Vecino app, allowing digital home buying, virtual turnovers and after-sales assistance.
