COVID-19 Aid Continues

The Aboitiz Group continues to provide aid as it simultaneously turned over personal protective equipment (PPE) for the frontliners to the different cities and municipalities of Cebu on May 15, 2020.

This was made possible through the joint efforts of the Visayas based Aboitiz business units – Aboitiz Construction, Aboitiz InfraCapital, Aboitiz Foundation, AboitizLand, AboitizPower Energy Trading and Sales, Cebu Private Power Corporation, East Asia Utilities Corporation, Mactan Enerzone, and Visayan Electric Company.

On behalf of the Group, AboitizLand turned over a set of donations to the Government of Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City. Each set included 5,000 surgical masks, 10 IR thermometers, 50 PPE suits, and 5,000 surgical gloves.

The initiative is one of the numerous contributions the OneAboitiz movement extended to help in the country’s arduous battle against the pandemic. Previous relief assistance consisted of food and medical supplies donations to various parts of the country.

As OneAboitiz, the Aboitiz Group is working together to fulfill its promise of advancing business and communities.

The Philippines is home to five out of seven species of sea turtles or pawikan that can be found in the world. Sea turtles play an important role in keeping the oceans healthy by nourishing seagrass beds and coral reefs. However, as human activity increases, sea turtle populations have become endangered.
